Regulations and Contracts

About the Yamagata University Inkjet Consortium (YU-IJC)
(For details, please refer to the Consortium Regulations.)

  1. Implemented at the Innovation Center for Organic Electronics (INOEL), Yamagata University
    1. Operated by the INOEL Inkjet Development Center.
  2. The YU-IJC will propose a research theme and solicit participating companies (participants).
    1. For AY2018, two research themes are proposed (see the following slide).
  3. Each participant will enter a joint research contract with Yamagata University.
    1. Contracts will precede, should any discrepancies between contract and the consortium regulations occur.
    2. Based on the joint research contracts, participants will pay research expenses required for the research every academic year.
    3. Participants from the next year or later shall pay research expenses retroactively for the first academic year. (Article 9.2 of the regulations says this is to be determined by the project leader).
  4. Regarding inventions, etc.
    1. Regarding a patent solely applied by Yamagata University during the participation period, participants may be granted permission for a non-exclusive license if they bear the costs and expenses pertaining to the acquisition of rights. (Article 7.2 of the regulations)
    2. As for joint patents, Yamagata University will not seek non-working compensation. (Article 14.2 of the regulations)
    3. As for shared inventions, participants engaged in the same theme will be granted a relevant license. (Article 14.4 of the regulations)
  5. Operations
    1. Participants will have one person each in the consortium, as a managing committee member and a technical committee member, respectively.
    2. Operations will be conducted with each research theme as a unit.
    3. Participants will be exempted from the membership fee of the Yamagata University Inkjet Workshop. (Additional rules of the Workshop Regulations)

About the Yamagata University Inkjet Workshop (YU-IJWS)
(For details, please refer to the Workshop Regulations.)

  1. Implemented at the Innovation Center for Organic Electronics (INOEL), Yamagata University.
    1. Operated by the INOEL Inkjet Development Center.
    2. A forum to acquire technology and information pertaining to inkjet technology will be provided.
    3. A study session in a seminar format will be held about once a month (planned to take place at Campus Innovation Center Tokyo of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, in Tamachi, Tokyo).
    4. Technological trends and market trend surveys will be conducted, and, while exchanging opinions among members, survey reports will be prepared.
    5. Opportunities for studies, lectures, seminars, and implementation (practice) pertaining to inkjet will be provided.
    6. Human networks among researchers and engineers of inkjet technology will be established.
    7. Study and exchange sessions will be held to promote collaboration among different industries and for industry-government-academia collaboration.
  2. Operations
    1. An operations conference comprised of the workshop supervisor, advisor, secretary, and members of secretariat is being established.
  3. Regarding participation
    1. For corporate members, up to three persons from each corporate member can participate in the study session. Participants in the study session can be freely changed.
    2. The amount of study session expenses shall be one million (1,000,000) yen per year for each corporate member.
    3. Participants of the Yamagata University Inkjet Consortium (YU-IJC) will be exempted from the membership fee.
